TELEPRINTERS FOR POLICE
Plans To Extend Network (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. Plans to extend the police teleprinter system were ani nounced today by the Mini ister of Police. Mr Eyre. Towns to be linked to the i teleprinter network early next year are Wanganui, New | Plymouth, Rotorua. and ;Whangarei. Line - switching I facilities will be provided st Palmerston North. Hamilton and Auckland. The present network links Auckland. Hamilton. Palmerston North. Wellington Christchurch. Dunedin and Invercargill. Mr Eyre said the network ?t present handled more than 3000 messages a week.
