POSTAL ZONE MAPS
Available At Post Offices Copies at a map of the naw Chrtotchurch postal November 16, are now available at the inquiry counter of the Chief Pyt, Office and at principal suburban offices, the deputy chief postmaster (Mr J. W. Lincoln) announced yesterday. Booklets giving the none numbers of city streets are also available. “We are very pleased at the way the numbers are catching on,” said Mr Lincoln. "Already a good deal at mail is bearing the zone number, and we look forward to a preponderance of the Christmas mail being so addressed. "We have assurances from many business houses that theta* adrtr wo graph plates will gradually be brought up-to-date in this respect. We appreciate theta* efforts, as we know that a great amount of work is involved.” Zone I There seemed to be doubts among some people as to the limits of zone 1, Mr Lincoln added. The general bounds (starting at the bottom and going clockwise) were the main railway line, Clarence road, Straven road, Idris road, Glandovey road, Heaton street, Innes road, Briggs road. Marshland road. Banks avenue, Ute Avon river, Linwood avenue, Aldwyns road, and Ensors road. In accordance with the policy of having streets divided between as few zones as possible, however, only Straven road at all the boundary streets was entirely in zone 1. Clarence road and Linwood avenue were in zone 1 along that part of the length of these streets where' they formed the boundary, while the other boundary streets were entirely to neighbouring zones.
