Contract For Satellite
fN.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) WASHINGTON, Nov. 26. The United States Defence Department has awarded a 10.000,000 dollar research contract for a satellite to detect nuclear explosions in space. The space detection system is part of the department's Vela programme aimed at developing a foolproof system for detecting nuclear explosions. The full Vela programme is aimed at developing instruments to detect nuclear explosions on the ground as well as in space.
