Eichmann Verdict Next Month
(N .Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) JERUSALEM, November 27. The Court which tried Adolf Eichmann will reconvene on December 11 to hand down its verdict, it was officially announced today. Eichmann, a former S.S. lieutenant-colonel in charge of the Gestapo’s Jewish department, is charged with complicity in the killing of millions of European Jews during World War 11.

Eichmann himself apparently believes an Argentinian clairvoyant’s prediction that he will “not survive your 56th year,” made several weeks before his capture. His 56th birthday falls on March 19 next year. The announcement said: “Reading of the judgment on the trial of Eichmann will begin oh Monday, December 11 at 9 a m. in* Jerusalem.” Court sources said the reading was expected to take about three days. Should Eichmann be convicted, the prosecution will demand the death penalty. The indictment against Eichmann comprised 15 counts, 12 of which carry the death penalty. The prosecution will argue that capital punishment is mandatory under the law for punishment of Nazis and their collaborators, prosecution sources said. When the Court reconvenes, it will be the 115th session In the trial.
He was captured by Israeli ' agents in Argentina in May, < 1960, and brought to trial on April 11 this year. The trial ended on August 14. In the heavily-guarded cell where he is being held while his three judges consider their verdict, Eichmann has been racing against time to complete a book he is writing.
