MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SATURDAY (Before Messrs D. C. Richardson and J. C. Holliss, Justices of the Peace) OBSTRUCTED FOOTPATH Douglas Joseph Harris, aged 24. a workman, was fined £5 on a charge of obstructing the footpath in Cathedral square on Friday evening. He pleaded guilty. Sergeant E. S. Tuck said Harris twice refused to move on and he was then arrested. Harris broke away from the constable and was lost in the crowd. Harris was told that if he caused any more trouble the fine would be very much heavier. DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR Brian James Adams, aged 19, a freezing worker, was fined £7 on a charge of behaving in a disorderly manner on Friday evening. He pleaded guilty. Sergeant Tuck said that when Adams was approached by a constable in Chancery lane at 8.20 pm. be ran off and dropped a full halfgallon flagon ot beer. He was caught after a chase in Gloucester street When interviewed he admitted he had been fighting and had some drink. REMANDED Patrick August Stace, aged 40, a workman, was remanded on bail until Thursday on a charge of stealing £2 IQs, the property of Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd lan Patrick OUey, aged 17, a timber worker, was remanded on bail until Thursday on a charge of breaking and entering the shop of Lillian Clothier, at 247 Travis road, on November 11 and committing theft.
