WORKHOPS AT ADDINGTON
New Amenities Block , A modern new diningroom • and amenties block is now taking shape at the Addingi ton railway workshops. It ; will have seating accommoda- ■ tion for more than 100 men. With a total floor area of . about 4000 square feet the i new building, which will be ' of two storeys, will be used by the staff of the rail-car maintenance division of the workshops. The diningroom and cafeteria will be on the upper floor of the building and will be about 40 feet square. This is reached by an outside stair access near the nearby rail-car maintenance block. On the lower floor are a locker room about 40ft by 12ft, and a clothes drying , room of about the same size as well as a changing room, . showers and conveniences. An extension of the ground , floor space will include two • offices, which are at present ; housed in the maintenance block itself. The amenities block has been built as part of a proi gramme of expanding the ' diesel maintenance branches of the workshops. With concrete floors throughout, the new amenities block will have cavity . brick walls on the ground floor with a steel frame to the upper storey, which will have galvanised iron aides and roof.
