Arts Council's Fellowship

fN.Z. Prest Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 38. Alfter having approached the newly-constituted Arts Advisory Council on the question of the annual fellowship, it was disappointing to learn that the council intended running its own fellowship and no further funds would be available for that run by the Association of New Zealand Art Societies, said the association's retiring president (Mr I. F. Calder), today. “We feel that the association has administered the fellowship in a thoroughly democratic manner, and that results have been satisfactory from every point of view,” he said. “It is sad to think that 14 years’ accumulated experience in the making of the awards is now going to be wasted.”
