The Western team made runs in fine style before declaring at 263 for six wickets. This left a win for the Eastern team a foregone conclusion, with only 75 to make In three hours Eastern passed Western« total soon after tea, and, although winning the match, batted on until the end of the day. when it had made 113 tor three. The batsmen of both sides attacked the bowling the whole afternoon the crowd being treated to a good exhibition of cricket. The selectors may have a hard task picking the. team, considering the return to form of the Western batsmen. While Eastern was In the field. J. Vernon impressed as a good, safe wicketkeeper.
