AIRCRAFT FIRMS
Collaboration Plan (N Z.P.A.-Reuler— Copyright) LONDON. Nov. 23. The British Aircraft Corporation announced yesterday that it has reached agreement with four European aircraft firms for collaboration in joint projects. These firms were Sud Aviation (manufacturers ot the Caravelle jet airliner) and Marcel Dassault (manufacturers of the Mirage supersonic fighter) both of France. Finmeccanica of Italy (a large industrial combine, including the aircraft company of Aerfer of Naples) and Dornier-Werke of Germany. The collaboration between the British Aircraft Corporation and General Aeronautique Marcel Dassault concerns the Dassault Mirage 3V. This aircraft was a vertical take-off version of the highly successful family of Mirage fighters, ground attack and reconnaissance aircraft. The basic Mirage 3C has already been ordered by the air forces of Australia, France, and Switzerland. Hie Mirage 3V will use Rolls-Royce lift engines to provide vertical take-off and landing. In this form it will become a highly suitable solution to the N.A.T.O. requirement for a fighter and reconnaissance aircraft.
