(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 24, A proposed lunch-time walk for two members of Parliament from opposite sides of the House did not take place today. When discussion was waxing warm in the committee debate on the I.C. and A. Amendment BUI this morning Mr A. McCready (Government, Otaki) offered to take Miss M. B. Howard (Opposition, Sydenham) for a walk at lunch-time and show her, within 100 yards of Parliament Buildings, “hundreds of people who were most impressed with the attitude of the Government in bringing the legislation before the House.” When the Deputy-Lea-der of the Opposition (Mr Skinner) mentioned the offer after the House resumed in the afternoon, Miss Howard interjected: He stood me np. Mr McCready: I couldn’t find the honourable lady.
