LUXURY VICTOR

The new Vauxhall VX Four Ninety, the luxury version of the Vauxhall Victor, is fitted with an engine producing 81 b.h.p.—44 per cent, more power than the standard Victor engine. The engine has a compression ratio of 9.3 to 1 and is fitted with aluminium head and twin carburettors. A four-speed all-synchro-mesh gearbox is fitted as standaid, and a different clutch, rear axle ratio and tyres are fitted to cope with the additional power. Disc brakes are fitted at the front and the suspension is stiffer than that on the normal Victor. There are individual front seats, a heater and windscreen washer as standard. The instruments include a 100-mile-an-hour speedometer, a tachometer, ammeter and oil pressure gauge. In New Zealand the VX Four Ninety costs £ll4l, £ 565 of which must be overseas funds.
