Long Service To Branch

A bouquet and book token were presented to Miss M. Corkill in appreciation of 25 years’ work for the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Registered Nurses’ Association at the branch's annual meeting last evening. The presentation was made by Sister H. Campbell. Miss Corkill will retire soon from the position of superintendent of the Nurse Maude District Nursing Association. "But I hope to be a member of this association 1 for many more years,” she said. Miss M. Rae presented a book token to Miss L. Murray. the branch treasurer, and Miss S. Rolls presented flowers to Mrs E. A. Stenhouse, the retiring secretary.

An entertainment programme was presented by the following: Miss M. Williams (piano solos). Sisters M. Bruhn and S. Carney (vocal solos), Miss D. Pringle (operatic arias). Officers Elected

The following officers were elected:—President, Miss C. Ryan: vice-presidents, Misses S. Rolls and F. Tonkin; council. Mesdames M. Chambers and C. Robinson, Misses M. Rae. M. Little, J. Taylor, M. McKenzie, J. Burrell. S. Rolls. F. Tonkin. B. Hilliwell, J. Barrett and L. Murray. Delegates to other organisations: Save the Children Fund. Miss I. M. Blathwayt: Pan Pacific and South-east Asia Women’s Association. Miss F. M. Tonkin and Mrs E. Thomas; C 0.R.5.0.. Mrs M. Griffiths; National Council of Women, Nurses S. Rolls and Te N. Hughes. Mrs E. Thomas was appointed secretary at last month’s meeting of the branch to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mrs E. A. Stenhouse, who has held the office for three years.
