Meat Exports
Sir, —It is not often you make a “blue” in your editorials but you made one this morning on “Advice on Meat Exports.” I agree with every word you say: I couldn’t agree more, except for this: "The Meat Board hasn’t done this and that . . . the board should consider its conservatism.” What has the Meat Board got to do with meat? I sell my lamb to. say, the New Zealand Refrigerating Company. It belongs to the company, not the Meat Board. Admittedly, they have a toothless, doubtless wonder called the Meat Development Corporation or some such high-fainting title; but it is useless. Why not attack this fatherless child bom of fear, expediency, and compromise?—Yours, etc., C E. IVERSEN. November 17, 1961.
