Demand For Inquiry
(NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 17. The Wellington Chamber of Commerce decided this week to ask the Associated Chambers of Commerce to press for a commission of inquiry on the Nelson cotton mill agreement, irrespective of the outcome of the Governments latest moves to have further talks with the directors of the Commonwealth Fabric Corporation. It was essential that the Associated Chambers continue to try to have a commission set up to investigate the whole circumstances of the agreement, says a supplied statement The commission should also have in its terms of reference consideration of the general principles behind the promotion of any similar major development projects, so that a situation such as had developed over the cotton mill did not arise in future.
