FLUORIDATION IN WAIMAIRI
Council Calls For Report
After a spirited debate on the worth of fluoridation and the ethics of imposing it on the public by introducing fluorine into a water supply system, the Waimairi County Council last evening decided on the casting vote of the chairman (Cr. J. I. Colligan' to call for the completion of the report on the technical oossibilities of introducing fluorine into the county water supply system. Technical difficulties arise from the engineering point of view because the county water supply is produced by pumps, some below ground, and not from reservoirs. At its previous meeting the council unanimously resolved. without discussion, that the county engineer (Mr J. T. L Couper) should make a report on means and costs of fluoridation of the county water supply.
