SATURDAY (Before Messrs T. W. Smith and J. L. Ives, Justices of the Peace) OBSTRUCTED POLICE Paka Neera Rigby, aged 20. a carpenter, was fined £5 on a charge of obstructing the police. Sergeant E. S. Tuck said Constable O. Russell asked Rigby to move on past the burning grandstand at the Addington racecourse on Friday. Burning particles were floating over the crowd Rigby-refused and seized the constable’s lapels, said Ser-i geant Tuck. “I just wanted to watch the fire, that's all,” said Rigby. “The public must be protected at such times and the police have a hard enough job without such as yours.” said Mr Ives.
