Sir,—The political revelation of this generation is Khrushchev’s today’s condemnation of Stalin’s tyranny and his idea, now, to erect a memorial to those who lost their lives in Stalin’s purges. Where did this same Khrushchev stand in Stalin’s time? Mr Macmillan, at the United Nations. once accused Khrushchev of calling, as the pot, the kettle black. Here we see the biggest band of conspirators of all time at work, cruel, despotic, concerned only with their own power. Where now is the judgment of our local “fellow travellers” who have upheld Stalin almost as God?—Yours, etc, PEGASUS. October 27, 1961.
