SHALE OIL INDUSTRY
Good Prospects In Otago (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. October 12. Prospects were most encouraging for the economic success of a shale oil industry in Otago, said Sir Leonard Wright, of Dunedin, on his return from the United States tonight. He represented the Nevis Shale Development Company at the international industries conference at San Fransisco. New Zealand was one of 62 nations at the conference. He also investigated the shale oil industry for his company. “All that is left to do now before going ahead,” he said, “is to ascertain the quantities available and determine the exact quality of the deposits."
