The double will be on the President’s and Flying Handicaps. Most of those engaged in the first leg are nominated for the tighter class Epsom Handicap next Saturday night (for which there is an entry of 411. If she races as well again tomorrow she could upset calculations. One of her best efforts would give her a sound chance, but it is hard to see her beating Teryman, Smokeaway and Ceremonial. Van Rush will be a dominating favourite in the second leg, the Victory Handicap. He beat all but Massacre in the corresponding race last Saturday. failing by half a head to overhaul that pacer. He was well clear of the third horse, Young Kim, and will only need a little luck to be a decisive winner. He will again be bracketed with Young Dieman. which looks to be close to worthwhile forth. Medorb Star was favourite last week, but he received a shocking run after being a little slow early and he was never really a danger. Medoro Star looks well and better favoured in the running. he could make amends in this field. Great Stamina Sally Boy was most disappointing at Motukarara last week, but he gave a sound display at the Ashburton trials on Tuesday He has great speed and stamina and if he races kindly in his first experience under lights, he would be 100 good for most in the race.
