TROTTING Teryman Picked To Win Again At Forbury Park

Teryman is selected to win the President’s Handicap, the main race and first leg of the double on the final night of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s spring meeting tomorrow. Teryman gained an all-the-way win in the corresponding race on the first night of the meeting. He has been penalised 12 yards for that win, but that is not expected to be enough to keep him from taking a prominent part in the finish.

Teryman has drawn No. 1 on 12 yards tomorrow and he should be able to take up and hold a handy position throughout. He requires only one distance win to be correctly placed in the New Zealand Cup next month at Addington and this win be his final opportunity to earn a 4min 23sec rating for two miles. Smokeaway, which also requires one distance win to be correctly placed' in the New Zealand Cup, was an unlucky third in his race on the first night ot the meeting. He was full of running at the straight entrance, but was blocked for room. By the time he was clear, Teryman had established a winning break, but hi» placing was full of merit. Smokeaway will only need to obtain a reasonably clear run to be one of the hardest to beat. Ceremonial was badly checked and nearly lost her driver near the three furlongs last week. She had not been asked for an effort until that stage ot the race, but after the check she was too far back to have any chance. Her previous form was of a high standard and it will not surprise if she is in at the finish. Aquaplane and Vanity Scott appeal meat of the four horses on the front, but even so their chances are not highly rated. Aquaplane did well to finish sixth in the race won by King Hal in record time last week as he was checked twice. He looks well and could improve. Vanity Scott stopped rather badly and finished ninth last week. However, she might have needed the race and could do better this

ing last week was full of merit. He is racing most generously and should again be in demand. Orient Night was twice second at Hutt Park recently. She might receive a more favourable run in this field and could be one of the better prospects. Lucky Tryax, La Vite and Royal Brittania look to be the pick of the others. Fair weather is forecast and the track is expected to be in good order.
