Destitute Korean’s Letter Written In Blood

WELLINGTON, Ort. 12. A letter arrived in the morning mail recently at the World Council of Churches Headquarters, Geneva. Official* who Studied the red Korean characters were startled to find it had been written in human blood. It was addressed to the Rev. Hallam C. Shorrock, executive director of Korea Church World Service, who sent it on to Geneva. Enclosed with the letter was this translation, which has reached C.GRS.O, National Headquarters, Wel“A petition from the depths of depair to the charitable Rev. Hallam C, Shorrock: “I am a destitute jobless human being. The reason I made up my mind to write this blood letter is that I could not see the starving of my children, "Please help me and pick me up from the den of friendlessnera and hopelessness. I have tried to
forget the hard struggle for existence with such a miserable fate, but everything does not go with my thought “Deer Reverend! Why don’t you have concern for the seven lives of my family? I am tempted to rob, but how can I do such a thing in front of crying little children? “Inside the tears of my children I ran find an untanown trutik which is a hungry father's final derision to offer a petition to you with my red blood. "You should hate ffis for being such a foolish, discourteous person, but I could not leave my children alone to starve and to die." The letter is signed—" Kim, Joon Ok."
