AMBERLEY SHOW

Good Entries In Horse Classes. I There will be keen competition in the lamb ide wee at the Amberley Agricultural and Ptetoral Association’s show on October 28, for the enitries are very good, as is usual at Amberley. Entries in the classes for light horses and hunters are about 30 more than those for last year. There are fewer entries than last year in the classes for ponies, sheep, cattle, wool and poultry. The total entries, excluding the flowers sections, are 1172. Last year they were 1216. It is considered that the lateness of the spring is the cause of the decreased entries. Exhibitors have said some of their stock is not as forward as in other years so they did not like to bring it out. The entries in the various sections, with those for last year in brackets, are:— Light horses and hunters, 203 (176); ponies, 346 (459); sheep, 570 AS26); grain and seeds, 53 (597; catife, 79 (127); wool, 24 (41); dogs, 8 (12); poultry, 90 (131); home produce, 52 (37); cooking, 157 (90); art needlework, 82 (36); junior sections, 1172 (1216).
