Parliament’s Diary
Five bills were introduced and read a first time when the House of Representatives resumed yesterday afternoon. They were: The Inland Revenue Department Amendment Bill, the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Bill, the Agriculture Emergency Regulations Confirmation Bill, the Primary Products Marketing Confirmation Bill, and the Presbyterian Church Property Amendment Bill. The Inland Revenue bill was read a second time pro forma and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. The Crime Bill passed its committee stages, with amendments, at 10.15 p.m. Other measures committed included the Summary Proceedings Amendment Bill, the Law Practitioners Amendment Bill and a number of university bills.
