Rocket Beacons Off Africa?

A.-Reuter—Copyright) UTRECHT (Natal),-Oct. 5. , Russian fishing vessels are planting rocket directionfinding beacons oft the coast of South-West Africa, accord- , ing to the chairman of the National Union Party (Mr ’ J. Basson). His information came from military sources, he said. Russian ships off west Africa were not there to catch fish, but to plant the direction finders “for rockets which can be fired out of Russia,” he told a political meeting. Similar beacons were being planted on routes throughout the world. Mr Basson said that if South Africa were attacked, “possibly as a result of a ruling of the International Court on South-west Africa,” it would not be another Katanga because the opposing forces would be united. “We are today the loneliest little people in the worldJ he said. r
