The liner Canberra, due in Auckland on October 2, may be delayed by engine trouble. Specialist technicians from the makers of the engines in London are flying to the ship, which is travelling at 21 knots instead of her usual 27 knots. She was due today at Colombo. The fault Is a centre fracture in a port turbine blade. Replacement For Willomee (N.Z, Pres.- Association) WELLINGTON. Oct. 6. The Willomee is to be reK laced by a larger ship on ths (elllngton-Nelson daily service. The Pearl Kasper Shipping Company has purchased the Konanda from the Adelaide Shipping Company The Konanda was built in Holland in 1955 and has a length o< 140 ft and a gross tonnage of 414. She is exceptionally suitable for the Cook Strait run. being a fine seaboat, powered with a 450 h.p. motor giving a speed of 10 knots.
