Lake On Way Home IN-Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Oct. 4 New Zealand’s Minister of Finance (Mr H. R. Lake) resumes his homeward journey today after stopping in the United States from the Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ Conference in Accra, and the World Bank Conference in Vienna. He flies from Baltimore today for San Francisco, and then to Honolulu, before going on to New Zealand. In Washington yesterday, he said he would report to the New Zealand Government on his return on his discussions in Washington. Yesterday, he discussed with United States Department officials “possible effects” on the New Zealand export trade if Britain joined the European Common Market. He told a reporter that officials in Washington were “well aware” of the situation. last evening, Mr Lake was guest of honour at a New Zealand dinner given by the New Zealand Ambassador (Mr G. R. Laking). Insurgents in Angola.—lnsurgents who attacked a police column on a road in northern Angola killed one policeman and wounded another before they were driven off, the Portuguese news agency, A.N.1., has reported.—Reuter.
