Colour Film Shown A documentary film, “The Link.” produced by Thomas Borthwick and Sons, Ltd, which deals with the marketing of New Zealand meat in the United Kingdom, wa* shown yesterday to the annual conference of the company’s buyers and to member* of the staff of its Canterbury works. The central figure in the film is a New Zealand tanner, who, on a holiday visit to England, decides to see for himself what happens to New Zealand meat in the United Kingdom. He visits Southfield market, sees the reception, handling, and selling of the meat, notes its condition, and later learns much ef the system under which supplies arc sold direct to butchers in the neighbouring country areas.
bi colour, the film runs for 30 minutes and. in addition to the Smithfieid section, has an int'jreeting sequence dealing with lamb raising on an English farm.
Arrangement* have been made for "Die Link” to be shown to farming groups in Canterbury. It will be screened in conjunction with the killing of the Amberley Agricultural and Pastoral Association's fat lamb competition entries on October 30 and at Darfleid on October 31, Ashburton November 1. and Culverden on November I
