TWO PREMISES ENTERED
Two premises In the city were broken into during Thursday night. The premises of McDougall’s Menswear, 243 Linwood avenue, were ransacked by intruders after they had forced the door. Stock valued at about £BO was reported missing, and other clothing was soiled.
Nothing was stolen from the Metropolitan Service Station at the comer of Tuam and Madras streets, which was entered after a window had been broken.
Scholarship Winners.—J M. Roper, of the Hea’on Street Intermediate ‘School, and K. H. Tomkins, of the Kaiapoi School, have won the entrance scholarships offered through recent examinations by Christ’s College. The scholarships are tenable for four years from 1962.
