Farmers Fined For False Tax Returns
(NX Prut Association) GORE, October 3. Fines totalling £2OO were imposed on two ‘ Otaraia farmers, Douglas Gardiner Copland and Allan McAra Copland, by Mr J. K. Patterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Gore yesterday. They denied H charges of wilfully making false returns of income. Nine of the charges referred to the operations of the farming partnership of the Copland brothers from 1950 to 1958. The remaining two were separate informations against each of the defendants for 19C9.
