Acquisition Of 250 Acres For Paparua /From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, October 3. About 250 acres of farmland near Paparua Prison are being taken over by the Justice Department as part of a plan to improve the quality of land available to the prison for farming. Last week’s Gazette carried proclamation notices covering two blocks of land totalling US acres. One area, of 100 acres, comprised three rural sections in toe Rolleston survey district The other, of 29 acres in the same district had been leased as farm property by Mr D. H. Chapman, of Templeton. A spokesman for the Justice Department said today that three more small parcels of land, totalling about 00 acres, would bo acquired by the prison authorities, who were hoping to make Paparua more self supporting
