SCHUMACHER APPEALS

Case May Be Next Week (W^J’.A.-Reuter—Copvripht) SYDNEY, October 3 The jockey, M. Schumacher today lodged an appeal with the Australian Jockey Club against life disqualification, imposed on him by the AJ.C. stewards last Saturday. Schumacher was disqualified for foul riding after he held the right leg of jockey Tommy Hill in the finish of the AJJC. Derby. Schumacher rode the Victorian colt Blue Era, which was relegated to second place after Hill (Summer Fair) protested. [ The grounds for Schumacher’s appeal are:— i That the decision was i against the evidence and the ’ weight of evidence; that he was not guilty of any offence under the rules of racing, as alleged by the stewards; that the penalty was excessive. The appeal probably will be heard by the AJ.C. committee on Friday week. REEFTON RACES SATURDAY NEXT. October I. Enjoy a day out in attractive surroundings. Plenty of parking space and FACILITIES .
