Road Alliance Officers
(NX. Press Association) WANGANUI, October 2. Mr A. A Heenan (Invercargill), was re-elected unopposed as president of the New Zealand Road Transport Alliance, at its annual conference in Wanganui today. The appointment of a vicepresident will be tnade 6y the council on the last day of the conference tomorrow. Mr D. D. Merritt (Nelson) is immediate past president There were 19 nominations tor the 15-member council AU 12 council members who stood again were re-elected. Two council members who did not seek re-election, Messrs F. G. Sheed (South Canterbury) and M. R. Tulloch (Mataura), were thanked for their services. Mr Sheed has been an executive member of the alliance for 21 years, including a term as president from 1949-52. He was made a Ute member in 1959.
The new council is: Messrs J. B. Cullen (Ashburton), D. P. Domett (Manawatu), A. R. Fairbrother (Wairarapa), D. C. Habgood (Ellesmere-Mal-vern), L. King (Franklin), E. J. Molloy (West Coast), J. D. Morrison (Taranaki), L. B, McKenzie (Tauranga), G. N. McWhirter (Waitemata), R. H. Pettigrew (Hawke’s Bay), A C. Pryde (Whangarei), C. R. Robinson (Putaruru), G. H. Sarjant (Thame* Valley), R. P. Smith (Opotiki), and W. O. Tilsley (Morrinsville).
