SHOW JUMPING Horse Society Plans Team For Tokyo Olympics

Th* New Zealand Hone Society plan* to field a showjumping team at the 1964 Olympic Games at Tokyo after the fine performance of Adrian White and Telebrae at Rome. To facilitate fecial training and competition experience, the society has planned a comprehensive programme and appointed Mr C. Bolgar. Who wa manager-trainer to

Simmon* has been appointed to arrange a training programme with Mr Bolgar. The sub-committee hat co-opted Mr' White, whose experience in Europe will ba of great value. . Cautpaign Hao The plan of campaign will follow these lines— During the next 12 month* Mr Bolgar will take advanced course* ot jumping instruction at 13 centre* throughout the Dominion. The course* will be open to all comer* During these initial courses, empbari* will be on training the rider; testing him for hi* knowledge and ability to handle his horse under all normal conditions. Fences and courses may be difficult but will not be big. No height will be asked for Airing this period. ■ In the second 12 months, October, 19®, to October, 1 1963, the advanced courses 1 will be more concentrated and some pressure will be put on th* horse to test hi* ability and courage. Those who make the grade from 1 the first period will have at least two course* in the 12 months.
