High Praise In London
(NX Press Association) LONDON, October 2. London’s Sunday news papers were full of praise for the New Zealand League team after it* 29-11 win over Great Britain at Heading!,? in the first test. The "Observer” said: “The Kiwis gave a superb display of attacking League. They were fitter, faster, and much quicker in their reaction* than their British opposite*. “Gone was the naivete they have shown so frequently in positioning. "Much of the credit must go to Hammond, who was an inspiring captain from the second ra- ’,” the newspaper said.
"Although they were outhooked, 17-10, the Kiwis hunted the ball so successfully in the loose that the deficit was hardly noticeable,” the "Observer” said.
