What are the qualities of successful leadership? According to Mr John Marsh, who is retiring after 11 years as director of Britain’s Industrial Welfare Society, they should include the analytical bluntness of Lord Montgomery, the unflappability of Mr Harold Macmillan, the serious dedication of Mr Frank Cousins, the roguish humour of Lord Boothby—and the basic common sense of the man in the street.— (London, October 2.)
