HELP WITH NURSING
Beneficiaries’ Concessions
(NX. Press Association) AUCKIAND, Oct. 2. An assurance that the Gov. eminent would not alter the concession to widows and age beneficiaries who helped nurse aged people in hospitals was given by the Minister of Social Security (Mr Sh.lton) in a letter received by the Auckland Hospital Board tonight. The board had written to the Minister asking him to continue toe current eonceuion. Thia allows the first £7B of personal earnings received by women beneficiaries for nursing or domestic duties to b. exempted from asseament. Mr Shelton replied that the Government had no intention at present of either withdrawing the concession or absorbing it in any increase in the basic allowable income for Social Security benefits.
