PRISONER ESCAPES

N. PLYMOUTH, October 1. A 23-year-old prisoner from the Rangipo Prison, near Lake Taupo, escaped at 5.30 a.m. today. He is James McNeil, a workman, sft 9in, of fresh complexion with brown hair and blue eyes. He is tattooed with hearts, diamonds and a shamrock on his arms, and has a heart tattooed on his left thumb. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, and Air Force blue trousers. He is probably weara .grey pullover. Road blocks have been set up by the police on all the arterial routes in the area.
