MELBOURNE. October 1 New Statesman won the Moonee Valley Stakes easily yesterday in race-record time of Imin 37 1-Mtc. Hi* time was the second fastest for a mile at Moonee Valley. Mardene holds the record at Imin 35 3-3»ec. New Statesman defeated Royal Belltor and Native Statesman
