OVERDUE SAILORS
Return From Tararuas
(H2. Press Association) MASTERTON, October 1. Three sailors from the cruiser. Royalist, overdue on a . tramping trip in the Tararuas, walked out safely at Tauherenikau at fl p.m. on Saturday. Search and rescue parties from Carterton and Masterton were recalled. The three sailors. Trevor John Clark, of Auckland; Thomas Pickett, of Otaki; and Trevor Maurice Andrews, of Auckland, all about 20. had left Otaki on Tuesday morning and were due at the Bannister Hut on the Wairarapa side of the Tararuas on Thursday. When they were reported overdue the Search and Rescue Organisation was alerted and four-man parties from Carterton and Mastertoon set out a 1.30 p.m. yesterday. The sailors were tired but fit and well.
