Fewer Deals In August More listings, but fewer sales, were reported in August by members of the Multiple Listing Bureau of Christchurch. The September bulletin of the bureau says 36 sales—3B per cent of the number of properties listed for sale by members-i-were made in the month. "Although some members report selling difficulties over the last five or six weeks, others are finding an awakening of buyer interest.” the bulletin • says. The top price realised in a sale by a listing agent during the month was £6500, for a Yaldhursi road. Upper Riccarton, property. A conjunctional sale of a property in Hamilton avenue. Fendalton, realised £5200. Tn the five months ended August. 1961. 520 properties were listed for sale by the bureau and 259 were sold—a proportion of 50 per cent.. (compared with 47 per cent, in j the same period of 1960.
The average value of properties sold this year so far is £3300. compared with £3060 in the same period last year
