Candidates should have an honours degree and have had some experience of the design and construction of civil engineering works. (2) LECTURESHIP IN CIVIL ENGINEERING. Candidates should have an honours degree In Engineering.

The successful applicants, In addition to normal teaching duties, will be required to engage in research in some aspect of civil engineering and candidates should state the particular research fields in which they are interested. The salary for a Senior Lecturer is within the range £2550 x 95-£3OOO per annum: for a Lecturer within the range £1730 x 105-£2435 per annum. In each case cost of living adjustments will be allowed (at present £49 p-a.). The salary is subject to deductions under the State Superannuation Act. The Department of Physiology, which is at present expanding, offers courses in two faculties and within the Faculty of Science teaches to honours and post graduate level. An applicant with general or specific training in Physiology and qualifications tn either Science. Veterinary Science, Medicine or Agricultural Science will be considered for the position. The Department is however particularly interested in developing its courses in general and comparative mammalian physiology and the biophysical aspects of physiology. The successful applicant will be expected to assist in the teaching of second and third year students in the Faculty of Science and to continue his own line of research or to join one of the research projects already ta progress. Salary for * Lecturer is within the range £A1730 X £10a—£A2435 and for a Senior Lecturer £A2550 X £l9o—£A3ooo pa. In addition cost of living adjustments at present amount to £A4O. The salary for overseas applicants commences from the date of embarkation and fares of applicant and family are paid together with a removal allowance of £A3OO. The commencing salary will be fixed according to qualifications and experience. The position is superannuate and up to 90 per cent of the purchase price of a house may be advanced through the University housing scheme.
