Storm Lashes Philippines
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MANILA. Sept. 22. Tropical storm “Ruby” to. day lashed the northern Philippines with heavy rains and flooded low-lying areas in Manila. Traffic was jammed in many city streets and schoolchildren went home dripping wet after classes were cancelled. The storm was located 230 miles east of Manila this morning, with winds of 50 miles an hour.
Government relief agencies were awaiting reports from the provinces. Police said there had been no reports of casualties so far.
