AUCKLAND, Sept. 17. The Thames Jockey Club's spring meeting was held at Thames on Saturday In fine weather. The going was good. The T A.B. double. Beau Way and Starboard, returned £6l 12s 6d for £l. The totalisator on-course handled £38,620 10s, including £7331 lOs on doubles, against £43,2.13 last year, when the meeting was held at Paeroa. During the running of the Parawai Steeplechase Alamo tel! and broke his neck. His rider, P. Paraha. was admitted to hospital with concussion and suspected chest injuries. In the same race Chief Sport fell at the sod wall. The rider, P Mohi, was admitted to hospital with a broken right thigh.
