Mannequin Parades

(By EVE] Mannequin parades may vary from the informal paradettes, which took place at intervals throughout the day on the “cat-walk” erected near the showrooms of city stores, to more formal parades. These take place in salons, lounges or tearooms, to the accompaniment of coffee, tea or cocktails. Assured, sophisticated models appear, with fabulous eye-lashes and painted eye-lids, porce-lain-finish complexions, lissom and swift in movement and with the enviable ability to don any garment, and more extraordinary, any hat (however ridiculous), and appear enchanting.

Fashion is kind to us this season. Simplicity, the keynote of distinction, is apparent in the relaxed lines of tailored spring suits in the dropped shoulder and waist lines of lovely frocks, and in the elegant coats. These are often teamed with printed silk blouses matching coat linings. Crisp cottons in sparkling colours show exciting abstract patterns. And hats! Frivolous, frothy, tulley tea cosies, and wedding cake affairs, pill-boxes, sou’westers, high - folded crowns take your choice, and have fun planning your spring and summer wardrobe while you watch the models glide smoothly along the catwalk at your next mannequin parade.
