Taranaki Beats Wanganui, 34-6

(N.Z Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 3. In inflicting its heaviest defeat on Wanganui for many years, 34-6. Taranaki scored eight tries to none and gave its best performance of the season at New Plymouth, on Saturday. It was probably the best coordinated Taranaki effort for two seasons. Wanganui was six points up after 10 minutes after two fine penalty goals by B. G. Watson, but from the time the Taranaki wing, E. J. Keith, scored in the twenty-sixth minute, there was really only one team in the match. Taranaki led 11-6 at half-time. Tries for Taranaki were scored by W. R. Coles (2), T. P. O’Sullivan (2), E. J. kelth, R. H. Brown, I. C. A. Flavell, and J. F. McCullough. Conversions were kicked by J. L. Bayly (3) and K. C. Briscoe (2). B. G. Watson kicked two penalty goals for Wanganui.
