Bay Of Plenty Wins Against Counties
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. September 2. Superior handling and greater ability to finish attacking movements gave Bay of Plenty a 20-9 win over Counties at Pukekohe today. Counties had a territorial advantage throughout the first half, but Bay ofPlenty led 9-3 at half-time. Scorers for Bay of Plenty were Doherty (a penalty and a conversion) and tries by Oswald (2), Maniapoto and Parkinson. For Counties tries were scored by Whatarau and Cossey, and Whatarau kicked a field goal.
