FAMILY IN ACCIDENT

Three Injured (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, September 3. Three people, including a three-year-old child, were admitted to the Dunedin Hospital this afternoon. They were victims of a car accident in which three generations of one family were represented. The injured are Mr Patrick Mackay, who suffered a broken arm, his son, Mr Patrick Mackay, jun.. broken lower jaw, and lacerations to his neck and face, and his grandson. Craig Mackay, skull and scalp injuries. The accident occurred at 420 p.m. on Factory road. Mosgiel. The car was wrecked.

Seven people were in the car. As well as the three ■r.jured there were Mrs Patrick Mackay, her daughter-in-law. Mrs Patrick Mackay, jun., and her grandchildren, Mark Mackay and Grant Mackay. The grandparents live in Law street, Dunedin, and the parents of the children at 7 Felix street, Dunedin. Those not taken to hospital were treated for shock by a doctor at Mosigel,' and allowed to go home. The condition of all three injured was reported to be favourable, considering their ip juries. The car was travelling along Factory road when it veered across the road struck a power pole, and slewed into a hedge The front wheel was driven back into the car, and the steel bulk-head be'ween the engine and the passenger compartment was crushed up iga'nst the front seat The power pole was embedded about three and a half feet into the front of the car. which was twisted around from the rest.
