FOREST AND BIRD SOCIETY

200 Members Visit Wainui Nearly 200 members of the Canterbury branch of the Forest and Bird Protection Society visited Wainui, in Akaroa harbour, on Saturday. This was the first field day of the season. From the Young Men's Christian Association’s camp site members tramped along valley roads, from which much native bush and birdlife was identified. A talk on the Maori history of Banks Peninsula was given in the afternoon by Mr A. Fomison.
