Heavy Lambs Easier (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 25. There was a steady trade at Smithfield market in London this week, with New Zealand lamb prices remaining steady except for slight easing in the heavier grades, according to the market information service of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. Pitchings of home-killed beef remained heavy, but there was a shortage of quality offerings and a continuing shortage of Argentine beef. This was largely offset by substantial pitchings of home-killed lambs. Large quantities of good quality, medium - weight home-killed lambs were at Is 6d a lb. There were light pitchings of New Zealand mutton at unchanged prices. New Zealand beef was not quoted.
