Loans Restricted By Finance Corp.
Finance Corporation of Australia. Ltd., had restricted certain types of loans—-par-ticularly in New South Wales —because of the unsuitability of the present money-lending legislation, said the chairman (Mr H. H. Pittman) at the annual meeting in Adelaide. However, interstate offices had been responsible for a major share of new business during the year, he said: Losses from bad debts and repossessions had been “very minor.”
Business Personal Mr T. C. Hiddleston, manager in Dunedin for the Bank of New Zealand for the last three years, has been appointed an assistant manager at London. He will be succeeded at Dunedin by Mr D. H. Garrett, manager at the Te Aro Branch. Wellington. Mr J. Kilpatrick, of the Hamilton branch of Burroughs, Ltd., has been appointed sales manager in Christchurch. He will take over his new post on September 1.
